Hello all, happy to have finally found wines that I enjoy drinking. For the longest time, all wine tasted the same to me and I wasn't a fan of it. Now that I'm venturing out and also trying beginner-friendly wines, I've had some success.

The bottles I like:

Vietti Moscato d'Asti – this was the first bottle I liked, and all of my friends loved it

Kung Fu Girl Riesling – I tried this because of this sub, and even though it wasn't as sweet, I still enjoyed it

Taylor Port – I liked both the strength and flavor of this one, I also had the 10/20 year versions and thought they were great

Cupcake Red Velvet – this is probably the least sweet wine that I still liked, although a bit less than the others here

My taste is pretty common for new people I think: I like sweet, yet somewhat interesting wines that are also not very expensive. Based on this list, what else do you guys think I would like?

That’s great you are getting into wine! I applaud you reaching out. I personally like drier wines but that’s just my palate. The best advice I can give you is to get to know the “wine guy or gal” at your local store. If they learn your palate, they’ll be able to offer some of the best suggestions for you you!

In terms of what you’ve stated, I’d suggest trying some additional Rieslings, probably German Rieslings or other domestic producers. Some domestic Pinot Gris might also be a great intro into drier styles as well
