During White House dinners, while infamously serving everyone else pretty mediocre/subpar wine, Richard Nixon, more often than not, was drinking a bottle from his favorite producer: Château Margaux!

The wine smells quite sweet, with an aroma of blackberry pie, blueberries, dark chocolate, licorice, and a little black truffle. A full-bodied and rich wine, it tastes of fresh, ripe fruit with amazing acidity and tannins. The finish was incredibly long, elegant, and floral. This is perhaps the strongest Margaux I’ve ever had, but it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Truly one of the best wines I’ve ever had! If only Tricky Dick was alive to try this vintage. 😢

And to round out the night, a glass of tokaji, the favorite wine of my personal favorite US president, Calvin Coolidge!

Overall, fantastic wines to enjoy on a day we remember the US has in fact had good presidents in the past. Happy President’s Day everyone! 😅🫠😭
