Hi all!

I’m heading to Bordeaux for a week-long trip in a couple of months! I’m currently putting together my (+gf) planning and would love some recommendations on which châteaux are actually worth the visit. Last year, this community helped massively for Barolo visits, so I’m asking again for Bordeaux.

We’re planning to split our time between the Left Bank, Right Bank, and Sauternes.

Here is what I’m looking for:

– Left Bank options

– Right Bank options

– Sauternes options

– Planning on visiting 5-6 wineries in total

A few extra details:

– We’re going by car, getting around is no issue

– Aiming to visit 2 Châteaus per region

– We prefer to avoid (multiple) overly corporate "tourist traps”.

– Château d’Yquem is a bit too expensive Sauternes option as I am still discovering Sauternes, and the €70 (cheapest) option is fully booked for the whole year.

– I do like a special option, so a left/right bank option with a high status is okay for me.

Any tips on great lunch spots between tastings or general advice would also be hugely appreciated.

Thanks, legends!
