I have a design dilemma and I’m not sure what the path forward is.

Here is what is for sure happening:

The room is getting painted (the colour I’m 80% set on is White Tie by Farrow and Ball, but a second choice I am pondering is the more beige colour which is also Farrow and Ball. It’s called Drop Cloth).

The ceiling fan is being replace with a traditional light fixture and a medallion will be added.

The dresser is going to be removed and that wall is going to turn into floor to ceiling wardrobes.

Here is what I’m struggling with. The floors are warm and I want a warm paint colour. My curtains and bedding are cool toned and don’t really match the rug in my opinion. The rug HAS to stay as it was made for this room and it’s a 100% wool which I really like for a bedroom.

I am open to many things, even painting the furniture as black might be harsh.

I just don’t know how to tie it all together.

I have a beautiful vision in my head BUT my husband is saying (whether he means it or is being dramatic) that I can absolutely not start replacing curtains, so I feel very trapped with what I can do to piece it all together.

In my perfect world, the room turns into something like the mock up I made using AI. A room that is inspired by like the Ritz in Paris. I don’t know if there’s a way to achieve a similar vibe with the current rug and current curtains together; but I doubt it.

Just here to get different opinions because I do often instinctively buy and replace instead of working with what I have. I want to see what everyone thinks.

The first pictures are of the room currently. Then the paint colours I’m considering. The curtain pattern I love. Inspiration pictures and a digital rendering I made with AI.
