Honestly, I wouldn’t do shelves over a couch like that. It just doesn’t look good – the shelves have to sit too high above the couch but that puts them too high on the wall.
Either move the furniture away from that wall and hang the shelves lower down OR skip the shelves.

Skip the shelves over the couch. They never look good in practice. Get a nice piece of art (or two or three) instead.
