We recently moved into a new construction home. The trim is painted white, but all of the walls and ceilings are painted Sherwin-Williams Frosty white. I'd like to paint some for the bedrooms, bathrooms and the office to add some color. Do I need to paint the ceilings a true white and if so, do I need to paint all the ceilings in the house white?

I personally prefer the color drenched look where the ceilings match the walls; I find this actually makes ceilings look taller bc your eye doesn’t stop abruptly where the color changes. You certainly don’t need to repaint all the ceilings in your house. If you want white ceilings in the rooms where you’re painting color, whether or not the current ceiling color will read white enough depends on 1. what wall color you choose, and 2. whether you’re leaving the trim white or painting it the wall color. If the trim is staying white, the ceiling could appear gray still; if you’re painting it, it’s possible you could get away with leaving the ceiling as is if it looks white enough next to your wall paint.
