My dining room is so boring. I was originally thinking wallpaper on top and paint below the chair rail, but not sure if keeping the chair rail will make it look too dated?
We have a painted built-in desk that’s right next to the room, so I want to make sure it doesn’t clash with that. Colors, wallpaper, decor, any input would be appreciated!

Paint and paint the trim. Carry the wainscoting from the desk into the dining room. Go from there
