Hi!! I rented a townhouse and it came with this weird installation on top of the windows? Are they supposed to be curtain rods? What type of curtain would go there? Also please help me choose a nice rug. I am totally new to this and open for suggestions (I am getting rid of all the cables and router under the tv). Thanks in advance

Picture of the kitchen that is in front of the family room. I need recommendations for rug runner as well!! Should I buy the same design so they look balanced or should I choose something different? Thank you
a tall curtain might help the windows to look bigger
since your couch and dog bed are gray and your TV table is neutral, maybe a soft green for both the curtain and rug will compliment it well, while the curtain match the drape (no joke intended)
