I love my existing furniture but feel like it needs a bit of contrast (we just moved). What pieces should I incorporate for a Scandinavian/ calm look without feeling coastal?
I have an outlet for one pendant light above the table as well. Any recommendations?
Please ignore what’s on the sideboard currently!

I feel like this is the exact same question posted over and over again and will get the exact same answers over and over again: color, art, color, rugs, plants, color, window coverings, layered lighting, personality, warmth, COLOR. Find some art you love, find a big enough area rug to go under the table so that all of the chairs are still on it when people push away from the table, find some fabric for the windows (not necessarily old fashioned drapes you draw closed) put some scones on the wall or some tall table lamps on the console, get some plants maybe, put some color on the table, paint the walls maybe, put a runner on the table with some color…you get the drift. Right now it looks like the eating area of a motel room.

I would get a table runner and hang art over the sideboard that blends with the runner.

You can try something like this. You can add more colours to it.
Choose a matte black or dark gray conical or semi-circular chandelier. Hang an [abstract painting](https://rartz.com/collections/abstract-canvas-painting) in a thin black frame.
