I regret my new flooring, paint, and ceiling fixture choices. I spent a ton of money and cannot afford to repaint, redo the flooring, or replace the new ceiling fixtures. The space is reading overly orange, which I am trying to correct.

The flooring, wall paint, and lighting fixtures cannot be changed, so please do not suggest replacing them. What can be changed is furniture, rugs, window treatments, décor, and accessories. I will be refurnishing the home over the next year.

Photos were taken this morning in natural daylight. I am also in the process of replacing all bulbs with 3500K, 92 CRI lighting.

Home details: the flooring is Shaw Pantheon HD Plus in Jasper. The walls are SW Greek Villa with SW Extra White trim. The townhome faces east and west.

My style is transitional and calming. Preferred colors include sage, olive, peacock blue, slate blue, creams, and ivory. I dislike orange, yellow, pink, purple, and pastels. Existing fixtures are brushed bronze and brushed champagne.

I am looking for specific guidance on how to neutralize the warmth and make the space work using furnishings and décor only.

Low lighting plus that flooring tone is always warm and reddish.

Add contrast with deep slate or peacock textiles, matte black or iron accents. Avoid wood furniture in similar tone, go painted or light neutral. Rugs should be cool toned and large.

Drapes, same story. Pick a dark olive or dense linen cream for weight. Doesn’t fix the floor, but it’ll pull focus where it counts.
