This is a project I’m completing in Palm Springs, CA, and I originally was planning to sand and re-stain the cabinetry, but the grain was so heavy and neutralizing the red oak was such a challenge. So, decided to paint a deep burgundy/brown shade and add some fresh countertops and appliances. This was a foreclosure/squatter home so much of it was either damaged or stained (countertops were awful) but I’m so happy I was able to keep the original cabinets after much TLC!

Opening it up was also a no brainer and made the kitchen feel so much more grand. Happy with how it came out considering we saved $ on the most expensive part of the kitchen (cabinetry) by repurposing. My original vision was this exact setup with viola marble but since we will also be renting this out that was just not possible, but I think it would have looked incredible!

Overall happy with it and wanted to share!
