I put a lot of thought into this area but would love recommendations as it still feels incomplete or not full enough?
This is the letterbox enclosure area but does take up a large part of my small apt so I want it to look nice and disguising what it really is as much as possible lol (the entry into the litter box is on the right side of the cabinet!)
My thoughts: -add a tray for under the candlesticks? -maybe get a glass top or some other counter thing to cover the top and look more luxe? Idk if that’s a ridiculous idea or not -I feel sconces on either side would look silly?
Pic 1: the area in question Pic 2: the cabinet / “before” I added decor and DIYed a bit Pic 3: how it fits into the space!
Editing to add: One challenge is that anytime I add greenery on a shelf or anything other than the floor, the cats will knock it off. I’ve gone through two pots in the last 2 weeks they broke, even tried using the museum gel to keep things in place but for some reason they love faux flowers and plants lol

I would turn the picture the other way to start and add some coffee table books

Honestly that looks pretty great as-is! The modifications you added are awesome. You’ve done a great job disguising it, and without you drawing attention to it, I don’t think I would have noticed this is a litterbox cabinet!
You said the entrance is on the right side of the cabinet, but I see a hole on the left though. For your cat’s comfort, I wouldn’t partially block it with the flowers. Especially since a vase of flowers on the floor actually draws the eye there more. You could put the flower vase where you currently have the candlesticks, and that will add more volume and height on that side, and draw the eyes up and away from the side of the cabinet.

i see what youre trying to do here, but to my taste, a space devoid of color is always gonna look incomplete to me. letting the greenery on each side enclose an entire colorless section just makes the cabinet look like wainscoting. i would take the colors of the plants on the left and continue them into a new hung picture or shelftop pieces. alternatively, maybe a mirror instead of a picture would deflect attention away from it altogether. it is a litterbox after all.

This already looks really nice, but it seems like it will be difficult to keep clean. From a practical perspective, maybe line the inside with linoleum if you haven’t already?

A small runner on top of the cabinet would add softness and visual interest. Perhaps a runner in front of it as well? I think it’s an absolutely brilliant solution.
