I moved into a new apartment recently and this is the living room. I really want to put up curtains but I'm not sure which color to go with. I have a lot of burgundy throughout the rest of the house, but I also think a slightly warmer tone like terracotta might be nice.
I love the look of sheer lace curtains in other spaces but I'm not sure if they're too visually light for this. It's pretty 'grounded' – lots of walnut wood, darker rug, etc. so that made me lean towards something like velvet or just a more opaque cotton. Maybe I layer the sheer ones underneath?
All opinions are appreciated <3 (I know the right wall is very blank, I'm working on finding a large piece of art for it)
Also the second photo is where the couch was before. I'm not sure if it looks better there…I've switched it at least twice now. Looking at these photos I almost think I should put it back. Thoughts?

You have to center the couch under the window
I like the sofa on the wall facing the storage case & door. Center the rug appropriately.
As for curtains/drapes, I think it would be really pretty if you picked up the color of your throw pillows. They’re an opportunity to add a bit of texture and possibly shine as well.
It looks like you already have a window shade for privacy but that’s all it’s doing. I think the space might deserve a double set, with sheers, and I think you could totally do lace if you went with a lattice design instead of floral.
