Does it look off that the cabinet is taller than the bed? I know people usually place a lower bench in that spot, but I thought this could be fun and unique.
I actually don’t think the height of the cabinet is the issue here. I think it’s the width. The proportions in comparison to the bed are just…off. I do think the idea is solid though

I think this could work with a wider mattress on a higher platform

Would get a king size bed and put on a taller baseboard…

as an interior design expert (someone who designs a lot of houses in Animal Crossing), i agree with others that the width of the cabinet is the issue. i like it otherwise.

Taller than bed is okay (like a footboard), but wider than the bed looks awkward.

Your bed scale does not match anything else – it needs to be bigger for everything in this room. The plant the art and the dresser. Adding a box spring will help with the height which is also out of whack.
I personally am not a fan of the dresser at the end of the bed unless it is literally the only place for it.

I could see this working in a studio apartment to separate the sleeping area from the living room. But if this is just a bedroom, maybe a much bigger and taller bed would work better.
