Hi friends,

I have an ugly partially white/partially cream colored bookshelf that needs a fresh coat of paint. I want it to be green, but I also want to pick a shade that matches the wallpaper and dark wood finishing. These are the swatches I picked. I included close ups, as well as photos further out so you can see the color of the wood that is on the doors, crown molding, baseboards, window frames, and floor. I also have a lighter wood bookshelf next to the one I'm painting, I've included it in the last picture for reference.
Unfortunately, I cannot change the (in my opinion) ugly wallpaper. My home was built in the 1920s and its plastered to the walls. I was told I'd need to either paint over it or knock out and replace the walls. Hoping to just work with what I have!!

Any advice is greatly appreciated! I love interior design but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to designing my own spaces 🙈

I’m not sure the greens you’ve picked out work with this wallpaper. Imo, they’re toned too differently from the green in the wallpaper to look cohesive.

I think maybe a blue from the wallpaper could look nice, depending on the vibe you’re going for.

(I think the wallpaper is really cute fwiw, but I absolutely love wallpaper)

Number 3 looks suitable for this fs

None of them, the wallpaper has a blue undertone and in my opinion a wooden bookcase would be better, or consider a blue bookcase matching the color of the blue flower.

The only green that would work is one that matches the leaves in the wallpaper.

It seems like a version the aqua/teal flowers of the wallpaper might be more cohesive than the greens you have pictured here. Otherwise I think you have to do more of the green of the leaves and that might be too retro, but I guess it just depends on the other decor in your home.
