This is a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting much from this wine despite the good fill after 26 years. I purchased it from my neighbor who was emptying her cellar.
Medium ruby core fading to a medium garnet edge. The legs and staining show good concentration.
Aromas of medium + primary red fruits slightly desiccated in nature (red cherry, wild raspberry, red currant) herbs of oregano, and mineral of wet gravel and slate.
Secondary of cigar box, cedar, and coffee bean that really waft from the glass; and tertiary of desiccated flowers, and dried leaves,
High acdid matched by high dusty tannins that are silky on the palate. Both balance the fairly concentrated fruit and result is a lively intensity on the palate. Alcohol seems medium. Notes echoe the nose with a med + finish.
If you have this I'd drink it now. No point in aging further.
