Just got some port tongs for Christmas this year. Question for the group. What is the best way to heat them up in a home setting? I have a fire pit outside, will that work? Or do I need something like a creme bulee torch? How long do I need to heat them up?

You could use a fire pit. Anything that gets really hot will work. I’ve personally used a small propane powered camping stove to heat them.
They have to be REALLY hot, glowing. I tried just using a MAPP gas torch and never got it to work. Sticking it a good wood fire or charcoal seems to be the general suggestion. Your baby creme brule torch isn’t going to work at all.
