This video is the only visual evidence I have of this bottle…so enjoy the beautiful tunes!
I was very lucky to have my friend share the last bottle he brought back from France with me and some others. A rare bottle from the enigmatic legend Yvon Métras.
Smells like chaparral wind, dank earth and cherry cola. Definitely has some Brett, which I’m not the biggest fan of, but I can appreciate it when it’s just enough to add some interesting character, which is true in this wine. She’s over 10 years old and very much alive.
Tastes like a sunny day in a PNW forest after it rained the night before…oregano, cinnamon, mushroom, blackberry bramble, warm yellow plum, with a touch of sanguine/smokey/savoriness. Tingly tannic grip with the perfect amount of acid for a bit of zip. A finish that just won’t quit. Yum!
Pairs well with friendship and angelic voices.
