Do I need a valance in order to use these drapes? I live in an apartment, so that's not going to happen ugh lol. When researching it looked like they require hooks seperate from the ring to hang them? Also there are a trillion different types of pleated drapes (ex: inverted, tailored, pinch) how do I know which these are for hanging purposes?
Also this is heaviest fabric I've ever held in my entire life. I guess I'll need to invest in heavy duty drape rods, because I don't believe my current rod will hold with two panels. Each panel is on a drape hanger. I now see that I didn't know what I was getting myself into lol
Sorry my breakfast nook is cluttered. I moved my small dining table to the living room to use as a desk for school work.

Great find! Yes, you need pins and rings. Pin in center of each pleat and hang on a ring. The order of things: Place all pins, hang all the rings on the rod, then hang the drapes. You don’t need a valance.

Drapery designer here! No valance required. You need rings to use pleated drapery on a standard rod. The rings have holes at the bottom for hooks to go through. If your rod is well-mounted with anchors into the drywall, you might be okay. Since you didn’t include a picture of the top of the drape, I am not sure of your pleat style. Curtains and drapes are interchangeable, knowing what finishing top you have determines mount options. Your existing style is called grommet which is called rod-only drapery, where pleated styles are either rod and ring or traversing. Traversing is a specific kind of rod that the drape hooks hang onto a track. Amazon has many ring options for your current rod. If you need more help, I am happy to answer questions.
