We call that cap a cork. There are two things you can do at this point. If you have one (and they’re inexpensive), a device called a cork fish will pull it out in seconds. Otherwise, if you have a chopstick or a skewer or something similar, you can stick it in the neck of the bottle so the cork doesn’t get stuck in the neck blocking the flow while you pour.
