Hi all,
I’m early on in building a cellar and would love some guidance. Screenshot attached of what I’ve got stored so far with The Wine Society (UK).
Cellar is for ageing only – no plans to drink anything for 4–5+ years. Focusing on reds for now. Preference for dry, savoury, complex Old World styles over fruit-forward wines.
Questions
Am I spending too much per bottle? Most bottles are £55 -£70. Should I stick with fewer, higher-quality wines, or add some cheaper but age-worthy bottles to build breadth?
What should I add next? Looking for recommendations (regions, styles, or specific bottles) that age well and fit the above preferences. Wine Society–available bottle suggestions especially appreciated.
Any advice from people who’ve been down this road would be hugely appreciated 🍷
Thanks!!
