I bought my house in April. I was hoping to have at least one of the bathrooms remodeled before I moved in but couldn't afford it after all the other unexpected costs, repairs, and furniture combined with ever changing tariffs and uncertainty 🙂
I'm trying to do a little budget makeover to get me by in the meantime. I have these absolutely horrendous early 2000s tile that just look dirty. Can I paint them? I am saving up for the remodel and hope to have that done within the next 3 years max.
Does it really matter what I do to the floors if I'm planning on tearing them up anyways? How dumb is painting them? I was also thinking peel and stick tiles but it's my understanding they don't do well in bathrooms because of moisture. I kinda wanna go dopamine decor crossed with MCM.

Fix the room up with paint, towels, pictures, and a big rug until it is time to spend big money. The ROI is not worth painting the tiles.
I mean, u could. Rustoleum makes a pretty good product. If u plan to re-do sooner rather than later, it works pretty well

The paint on the floor will wear and peel. Get a few more rugs but wait on the paint to save money for the redo.
I would do peel and stick floor tiles before I tried painting. From reviews certain brands hold up really well *and* don’t leave residue
Edit to add – I feel like I always end up commenting about her here but beingtheblooms does real reviews on all kinds of peel and stick tiles and she has successfully had many in her bathrooms.
