Tried this beauty last night with dinner. It was absolutely spectacular. Coming from the Piedmont region, I was already biased towards it before I even tasted it. Being that Nebbiolo is probably my second favorite varietal right now, this one has many of the same characteristics, but some noticeable differences. It’s a touch more subtle than a Langhe Nebbiolo, with brighter acidity and softer but still grippy tannins. It had more prevalent red fruit notes on both the nose and palate. The body was a touch lighter than a Nebbiolo but overall, this paired delicious with my meatball and ricotta manicotti dinner. Highly recommend you try one if you haven’t yet!
