We are drywalling where a closet once was in our split level. The closet came out because we couldn’t open our front door or garage door (to the left of the ex closet) all the way. We were thinking maybe a wall paper print up the wall but the last thing we want to do is expensive paper we might want to change in a year. The left wall goes all the way up and crosses over into our kitchen at some point (love open concept right) so the paint color would have to complement our kitchen or transition in some way I think. How would you decorate this blank canvas?

It’s impossible to give advice from this one image. But from what I can see I would just paint it thr same as the other walls

With a wall that tall, I’d keep it simple. A warm off-white or soft greige will transition nicely into the kitchen without locking you into a trend.

If you want to keep the open concept, the most affordable option is to paint the wall in the same color as the others. An alternative I suggest is to add narrow horizontal board-and-batten trim to serve as a divider without compromising the open concept much.
