I wasn’t planning to upgrade my speakers yet, but one thing led to another and I ended up with these floorstanders. Paid about $860 for them, which felt reasonable at the time considering they’re around $1700+ new, but now I’m in that phase of wondering if I made a smart move or just talked myself into it. They sound good and I don’t regret it, I’m just curious how others think about pricing when it comes to used audio gear. Do you go by brand, condition, age… or just gut feeling?
And where do you usually look when buying used?

I like saving money and hate paying sales tax so almost all the audio gear in my house (3 systems) was bought used. Facebook Marketplace, Reverb, Audiogon, and US Audiomart are my go-to’s. Most recent addition was a minty mint pair of Wharfedale Lintons on FB Marketplace for $1200.
There are some good deals to be found on open box buys at BestBuy and Crutchfield too.
I mean…. I’m not an audiophile, I’d much rather spend the money on my car but if thats your world and it’s in your budget that’s a hell of a savings!
