Found at Costco for $20 so why not? Decanted half over the course of an hour, will revisit the other half tomorrow.

Medium to deep ruby/garnet. Medium to full bodied.

On the nose: (black?)cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, tobacco, clove, potpourri, some kind of green leaf, wood smoke, and a very subtle hint of vanilla.

High acid, dry, silky tannins, medium to long finish.

Paired with amatriciana. The pasta really softened the wine. Made it seem much fruitier and sweeter than by itself. The spice from the red peppers in the pasta pairs well with the tertiary notes in the wine. The fat from the guanciale and pecorino held up great to the acid and tannins.

Solid example of a young Chianti Classico that hopefully will evolve with time.
