
Opened this lovely Gaja this evening with steak and mushroom risotto. The nose was mushroom, dark fruit and a slight floral note. Palatte was forest floor and leather, but also still plenty of dark cherry fruit. Acid and tannins still very well balanced. Beautiful wine, if you have a bottle, I suspect it'll last another decade or more, but I can't imagine it gets better than this.
