Really exciting bdx and quite different from what you might expect from the quality producers in the region. This has a lot of personality and energy and definitely a natty lean.
What I really liked about this is how well it managed the noticable barnyard funk. It’s definitely there but it grounds the wine and balances beautifully against red berries, specifically raspberries, plums and some more earthy notes such a s cocoa and cloves.

Really like this lifted but complex Bordeaux and it paired beautifully with the duck breast I made tonight.

Ps. Been a fan of Le Puy and what they do in Saint-Emilion for a while and was chuffed that the Chateau was featured on the Apple TV show Drops of God. Still have to read the source material.

One of my favorite right-bank producers. Had the privilege to visit them in 2024 and did a tasting of a half dozen wines, including some from the barrel.

I highly rate their rouge, but if you find their blanc, I think it’s called Marie-Cécile, I believe, 100% semillon and so delicious.
