Disclaimer: I understand the big TV next to the window ruins the aesthetics. And that’s okay, as it will be a dedicated movie room. The window will be covered 99% of the time with a blackout curtain or shade.

What I’m struggling with is symmetry. I worry a blackout shade over the window will look just as weird as it does now, without something big (similar shape?) on the other side of the TV to balance the look.

How would you approach this?

  1. You could paint the wall or place a floor lamp in the right corner but it it’s a dedicated movie room, I don’t think I’d do too much to this wall? Some lighting or a colour might help when the room isn’t in use though.

If you want to embrace the home theater aesthetic you could hang a giant curtain across the whole wall

Id rate it “can watch stuff with dudes but girls not so much” type of wall?
