How should I design this wall? We already have a fireplace to the left. Built ins are not possible.

Maybe a floor to ceiling strip of wooden slat wall? You’d be well off throwing a bigger TV there too.

Can you add a few more pics of the room to make an evaluation? The TV area needs to be framed, but with what depends on a few variables. Floating shelves might be an option.

I don’t often say this, but your tv looks too small to me

Lower the tv, get a tv stand that’s wider than the tv.

Taller plant than what you have now.

    Curtains.

Add a TV cabinet. The small potted plant on the right side is too small
. replace it with a larger. floor-standing plant.

What about a pull down screen and get a projector. That viewing would be rad

Why is the tv mounted on the wall? Get a console table and sit it on it. Looks weird floating in out of space for no reason.

Rectangular panel moulding up the entire wall would be beautiful. And much cheaper than built ins! We lived in a house with a similar stretch of wall and it was beautiful.

If you’re not big TV people, meaning it’s not that important for you to have a large TV, for this space I’d recommend an armoire that you can tuck the TV into. That way you’re building height, and you can always hide it too.

mounting the tv *always* looks like shit in my opinion

Well you need a wide accent table underneath maybe with some warmth and storage. A collection of paintings/photos or a big ass painting above would add some balance. And I think a subtle patterned wallpaper could be nice too.

I was thinking giant bookcase with the rolling ladders and all. No but it needs a big media center for sure and a big TV too! Plants and curtains or some window dressing.

That is a PERFECT set up for a projector! 😍

A nice long console table below the tv will help

I have a similar tall walls and have yet to do anything with one of the blank spaces. I debate getting a giant tapestry to hand to help fill the space with something interesting (but giant tapestries aren’t cheap)

I’d get a bigger – and lower tv for that wall

fiddle leaf fig or something in a nice big pot by the window. long shelf under the tv?

if there is enough sunlight in the daytime reaching it a trailing plant sitting on the balcony and hanging down along the wall could be nice (just say your other photo. surely there will be enough sun!)

You need a MUCH bigger TV, first of all.
