Hi all! I just moved into my first solo apartment and I am having a crisis on how to pick a color scheme or a style. I am so incredibly lost and have no sense of interior design or decor so I am here asking for help 😭🙏🏼 I just bought this rug from ikea and it is so absolutely hideous!!! I unrolled it and immediately called customer service to initiate a return. It doesn't match my couch at all and I'm at a loss of what style rug would match the couch 🙁 I thought a neutral greyish rug would match but Im not sure now. I do like dark colors (midnight blue, deep dark purple, burgundy red, black obv) and like classy goth vibes so I prefer to stay away from plain bright colors. I don't mind a pop of color though!
My living room space is kind of awkward too. I think I got carried away with the size of the couch so it takes up a lot of space but I like the couch and don't want to take it apart to return it. That's good much effort!! So I have no idea where to put a dining table set. I just have this awkward space next to my couch. Also was planning on putting my TV stand against the wall where the cardboard box is…not sure if I'm optimizing my space efficiently.
Any feedback is appreciated! Hopefully I'm not a lost cause lol
