Can someone help me make my apartment look less “sad”

I am trying to make my apartment look a little more cozy. I feel that my friends have nicer places than me and it made me insecure with my current pad. Until I do upgrade apartments, I’d like to try to make my space look a bit nicer. What can I add on the walls or space? I did fix the wall up a bit and add the lights above my couch which helps with the empty space.
