Yes. If for no other reason a good thick cushion will help distribute the weight so you don’t get a butt sag in the middle.

Yes it definitely needs a cushion, and maybe a cute throw pillow with some texture. Think natural fibers. This could totally have a boho vibe with the right fabrics. It’s a blank canvas that you could have so much fun with. Otherwise, it just looks unfinished and uncomfortable.
