Do these panels have a specific name? And are they straightforward to remove?

We have panels like these above the cabinets in our new kitchen, and I feel like they’re really dating the place. We don’t want to rip out perfectly good wooden cabinets, but we feel like once we do all the other upgrades (new appliances, flooring, counters etc), those panels on the top will keep dating the place. Anyone know what the panels are called, and if it’ll be straightforward for our handyman to remove? Or are they part of the cabinets themselves and can’t be removed??
