What a privilege to drink an 18 year old Robinot! Complex nose of Orange marmalade, raisins, honey, almonds and a bit of kerosene. On the palate it’s quite kaleidoscopic, lots of dried apricot, nectarine, smoke, mushroom, salt and more. Still holding a strong acidity! I wanted to be blown away by this almost 20 year old Robinot Chenin, but it just left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. Although I would say this is purely because of my high expectations, otherwise it’s quite a delicious wine. Think I might like my Chenin on the younger side.
