Our 1922 craftsman home had a pretty typical 1922 kitchen – small, utilitarian, very dated, separate from the entertaining space. We love to entertain and everybody wants to hang out in the kitchen, which could fit maybe 2 people at a time. So over 1.5 years of planning and 6 months of construction, we combined our kitchen and dining room spaces and did an addition on the back of the house to create one big open kitchen and dining room space. I’m pretty particular about design and put a lot into the choices. I’m very happy with the result.

It’s beautiful! Very well done.
I’d love to see some “before” pictures.
Love the floors.
You’re moving the wrong direction. Walls are back
Love it. Those patio doors 🔥🔥
Beautiful, nice job! I love the bar!
wAw!!!
Unlike that other comment I think this is the exact right balance of what we need for the kitchen dining combo and I hope more builders and architects go this route.
You combine the kitchen and the dining room and therefore get better use of both spaces. You don’t need to fool around with half measures like an eat in island. The table is right there and you get the benefits of a full size dining table which families DO need. There’s no friction about using it because it’s not halfway across the house.
Open concept has gotten some flak on places like Reddit in the last couple years but I think that people are sometime criticizing without appreciating the nuance. The details are extremely different when you look at a 5000 sqft house vs a 1500 one. Having rooms is important post COVID with work from home lifestyles but how exactly you accomplish this depends on the specific property and you can’t make blanket statements
Curious how much did it cost? I’m thinking to do something similar
What are the countertops? Looks good
Stunning! Can you tell us about your range?
This is wonderful–love the attention to light and flow. Just really nicely done with great attention to detail and how a kitchen is actually used.
I’m intrigued about decision to have a massive range and relatively small fridge / freezer. What are your cooking habits like?
Chefs kiss 💋
Looks amazing! As a cocktail/liquor lover, my only concern is the sun hitting your bottles and ruining them.
The pendant lights above the island are beautiful
Absolutely gorgeous
What kind of pendants are those?
Beautiful
I’m obsessed with the window nook/seating!!
Your kitchen is gorgeous. I love all the details.
The gold and wood drawer pulls are fire. What kind of cabinet hardware is that? And please tell us where you sourced.
I love the lacanche!!!! How long did it take to arrive?
what was your process to find your architect? How much of the style and design did you already know you wanted?
