2018 Domaine de L’Octavin P’tit Poussot – Overwhelming, extractive, delicate. So much lemon, green apple, and pear; and of course there is volatile acidity and electricity too. Alice is making reductive wines in a different way than the Tissots. This chardonnay is dirty and ephemeral.
2018 Caveau de Bacchus Trousseau Arbois Cuvée des Géologues Nonceau – Hot vintage at 14% alcohol. Cherry, mushroom, forest floor, woodiness, and baking spices on the palate. Vegetal and dark fruit on the nose. Complex and wonderful!
