I am looking to reface my kitchen cabinets. We have white countertops, and I think it would look really chic to go with black cabinets. However, I’m lacking an inspiration. I really love a wood grain finish, so I’ve been looking into black wood grain finishes. I’m also trying to go for some thing a little bit more unique. For example, I love the cabinet style in this photo, but I’m not sure if I like the painted look as much as if it were black wood grain. Please send me any inspiration photos you may have! I’m also open to deep dark browns!

Kitchen builder here. You will find you have very little choice in door and finish styles from a refacing company. Refacing is a budget option and as such they have few options. Absolutely get a quote. But do not get your hopes up you’re going to get the look of a $200k kitchen for $15k.
This MDF door in what looks like a quality water base poly (industrial wood coating not DIY) has a fantastic look after installation and first cleaning. After that you will be dusting and or cleaning smudge marks constantly. Unless your well off and don’t plan to ever use the kitchen I would avoid doing a dark color like black or navy.
I don’t see ebonized cabinetry much. The [Manhattan door](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/449656344060024285/) is the only example I know of. Here’s an example of [dark brown](https://www.elledecor.com/design-decorate/house-interiors/a9156/emmy-rossum-manhattan-apartment/) (scroll down).
Otherwise charcoal is quite nice ([example 1](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/449656344061481284/), [example 2](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/449656344062521500/)).
keep in mind that matte black cabinets will show every single finger print, oil stain, etc. (source: an owner of matte black cabinets)
