Andreas Tscheppe 2017 Green Dragonfly
Incredible sauvignon blanc from (imo) the best place its grown. Bottled with 5g/L of residual sugar, giving it a little spritz in the bottle.
A smoky reductive and herbal nose, with rosemary, hay, cucumber water, pear, and this beautiful caramelly green apple fruit.
Palate had ripping acid but great concentration, striking a perfect balance. Similar notes to the nose on the palate with great concentration of fruit and a salty savoury minerality on the long refreshing finish. I could drink this every day and never grow sick of it.
The winemaker’s brother produces Werlitsch and their sister makes wines at Muster, all cranking out some of my absolute favorites.
I’d say you have to find this and try it, but my selfish covetous heart wants to keep it all for myself 😉
