Moldavian-style Mucenici, a tradition on the first day of spring (March 9th)

Mucenici (or sfințișori – little saints) are baked on the holy day of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. Made of cozonac-like dough in the shape of the digit 8, covered in honey and sprinkled with walnuts.
