2021 Jean-Pierre Robinot – Lumière des Sens

Bought this several months ago when a distributor announced they were bringing Robinot into our state for the first time. I was saving it for a special occasion and what better time to drink this red than during Valentine’s Day with some ribeye.

Many of you will know, but I have seen a lot of posts on here recently of people trying to learn more about Nati wines; Robinot was one of the early adopters of the natural wine process as we know it in the modern day. For more information, please read The World of Natural Wine by Aaron Ayscough(This is a great starting point for those of you wanting to learn about natural wine, and a great coffee table book).

I’m horrible at tasting notes. I just love the way the wine tastes. Eforvencant on the tongue with loads of black cherry. It was delicious. When I first opened it to taste if it was corked it had a flat cardboard taste to it, but that completely disappeared after 10-15 minutes of sitting open in my glass. First full glasses were poured after the bottle had sat open for an hour and it was dancing on the tongue.

TLDR: if you see Robinot buy that shit.
