I’ve noticed that a lot of shops and restaurants have the same natural wines. Which is very surprising considering London is such a huge city and there is so much wine in the world. I am speculating that a lot of places have the same supplier then?
Last year we went to a bottle shop in Shoreditch and after explaining that we like orange, full-bodied wines, the seller recommended us this wine from Greece. We loved it.
Fast forward a few weeks later we went to an orange wine tasting at the Mulwray and got to taste six amazing wines. We loved the last wine on the menu so bought it to take it home and surprise it was the Greek wine. Anyone know Roditis Barrique 2020? It’s my favourite wine would be curious to hear what you guys think!
It happened a few more times that we saw bottles in bottle shops all over London and then they had them in some restaurants as well. I don’t want to complain just something interesting I noticed. How is it in other cities in the world? Have you noticed something similar?

Correct on the importers/distributors. 2 proper big ones cover many bases – Les Caves De Pyrenes and Dynamic Vines. Dynamic is slightly more upscale – they do Gut Oggau, Radikon, Emidio Pepe, while Les Caves covers all aspects – lots of Jura, Judith Beck, and your pricepoint wines like Baglio Antico and Gran Cerdo.
For some restaurants having to deal with numerous importers can prove costly when you need to get order minimums in.
