That is so beautiful, love the green window it really draws the eye! Looks like the place for tea and a good book.

Looks nice but those huge windows are probably single pane and the heating bill will be gigantic in the winter.

The EPC is an F. Almost as bad as it could get. Imagine trying to heat the place.

It gets progressively worse with each picture. Calling that a “renovated workshop” is a bit of a stretch. It’s just a workshop with different furniture.

The Modern House is such a good website for finding architecturally interesting houses for sale in the UK. Been a fan of it for a long time and it really changed my opinion of some properties that I hadn’t appreciated how novel they were when they were built.

Oh baby. That’s one damn fine room.

Gorgeous! Makes me wonder why I continue to hesitate to paint the fairly rustic, 110-year-old floorboards on my first level—which are probably beyond any sort of good sanding and staining potential. (Upstairs is already painted anyway!)

it’s so beautiful! and so out of reach😩

It’s one of those things that looks lovely, but is totally and completely impractical. As others have said, with that EPC and the type of construction (brick/exposed ceiling voids) I’d question whether it’s even *possible* to adequately heat it. I think the best you could hope for is directing a heat source such as a fan heater directly at the place you’re sitting.
Whenever I see one of these places that would have been solidly working class, I always wonder what the original tenant/owner would make of how much it’s being sold for.

For anyone like me about to learn a new word:
mai·son·ette
/ˌmāzəˈnet/
noun
a set of rooms for living in, typically on two stories of a larger building and with its own entrance from outside.

I honestly thought this would be way more expensive in London. Cool place

Looks so good! Would choose this type of architecture over the plain Jane new built flats anyday!

I don’t know what a maisonette is but it sounds fancy.

The style of the window and door really brings the outside in nicely.

[More pics and information, including the floorplans](https://www.themodernhouse.com/sales-list/temple-street/). Oddly shaped bathtub aside, I think the house is full of quirky charm.

This room in that location. Absolute treat.
