White frosted glass with some LEDs maybe. Paint the wall in any shining color or simple white / light grey

Sheets of stainless steel would make for easy cleanup. You could buy an inexpensive roll of roof flashing and screw it to the studs and/or use Liquid Nails as an adhesive.
