I can’t understand this design. There seems to be no structural or aesthetic rhyme or reason to it. Is the roof really a gigantic hub cap made of foot thick concrete? Why does that pillar start as cast concrete, and then change to a skinny steel beam before it reaches the ceiling?

Steve McQueen’s house is next door. Funny thing about the Elrod house is that is made of cement and you can’t find 1 crack. The panoramic floor to celing windows in the master bedroom are custom cut to the exterior rocks, so the rocks go from outside to inside seamlessly. That house is pretty rad.
