Absolutely gorgeous room, but why the boob light on the ceiling?

faucet handles look fiddly but otherwise lovely!

That floor tile is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen, a wonderful highlight in the room.

That whole house is gorgeous and cosy, designed for people to live in. Only things I find a bit jarring are the dark marble backsplash in the kitchen, having that demands good undercabinet lighting which is not visible, and the way too busy wallpaper in the bathroom in the last picture.

Came by to say the floor stopped me in my tracks 😍

Someone has a thing for hands….

Would have chosen a different finish on the vanity and door than wood stain, but the stone and tile and fixtures all jive

Love all the elements individually (some of them are just divine), but all together it feels a bit much. And I’m not convinced about the taps at all… maybe they’re temporary until the real blingy ones come in?

Can anyone tell what brand the faucets are?

Floor pattern feels like overkill, but the rest is quite beautiful, esp marble installation choice. Family name begins with “B “ I see.

Floor clashing with counter. Otherwise beautiful.

Ah, isn’t it amazing what Micro$oft money can do for you if you have a few hundred thousand to spend on a bathroom. . .

I truly cannot even begin to wrap my mind around how incredibly expensive this renovation must have been. Every single finish and detail is completely custom and ultra high end. Whereas a mere mortal might end up at a big box hardware store or maybe pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware to buy knobs for vanity, at $6 or maybe even $15 a knob, no doubt these guys spent $100… I really have no clue the kind of money they had to throw at the custom bath/shower wetroom fluted-glass custom steel door with the big “B” golden handle. Custom beautiful premier-grade walnut vanity? $$$$!!!!

Here’s one detail that may not be obvious that I feel compelled to mention: the one thing I notice is that DESPITE kind of money these people must have (truly it must be unlimited infinity bank account type money) they are NOT choosing to live in some, super gigantic 5000 square-foot McMansion, which in Seattle would translate to some new, big soulless all-white ultra-modern box. From the pictures, I would guess this is maybe at most a 2800 ft.² house… clearly they can afford MUCH bigger, but for whatever reason they chose to renovate the very lovely and charming home they started with to make it over into their dream home. Perhaps they like the convenience of their Queen Anne neighborhood, perhaps they really liked their neighbors, or their schools, or have family nearby, but lots of kudos and respect for them for not teaching their kids that bigger is better.

I like their master bedroom and the moody dining room, but that’s about it. I think the living room is too cluttered, way too much stuff to dust. I think the kitchen is ridiculously dark, for those who don’t live in Seattle, seems like 50% of the time we are under gray and overcast cold skies, and so a dark kitchen is probably going to feel even darker, especially in winter when we have very few hours of sunlight. And this master bathroom, I am flummoxed understand. Storage?!? When I look at these vanities, I wonder where did people put their deodorant, their electric toothbrushes, their toothpaste? Their shavers? Their towels? They’re garbage? And in terms of that ultra expensive wet room, I’m betting this is occupied by husband and wife who take a shower every day, that’s 365 days × 2 people equals more than 600 showers per year, and yet, they have that gigantic bathtub (probably $3000) taking up a lot of real estate, and I’d be very surprised if they use that more than once a month. Just saying if I ever had that kind of money, I would put in a large and very nice steam shower with a very comfortable sizeable bench with double showerheads, so that a couple can get clean together and have some fun…

The other thing is I bet stylistically this bathroom is going to date very badly. It’s very specific and far from timeless or classic. My hunch: people in 12 years from now will look at it and wonder what were they thinking… but hey, with their money, they can just re-renovate to suit there tastes in the future.
