82% sauvignon blanc / 18% semillon all from Happy Canyon in SB. peach rings and grapefruit zest and stanky old lightstruck lambic hops. resinous finish with a slick limestone minerality and a pseudo-phenolic touch of white pepper. this wine’s like freddie gibbs: it’s pushin fuckin’ weight. but it’s got stunning acid and a softness on the mid-palate that actually allows it to expand and be truly enjoyable.
as someone who generally wouldn’t seek out Bordeaux Blanc (because i’m not a 45 year old divorcée with a crippling lorazepam addiction), this is stylistically sound and a certified ass whipper. highly recommend.
