Pretty colors but the overhang of the bench blocking the doorway is a big oof.

    love the staircase.

What’s the name for when they use different shades of the same colour?

This is so pretty, it looks like a movie set.

  4. I think this is totally excellent. i even like the cushion overhang. Nice use of colors.

That light or camera dome or whatever it is on the wall could benefit from a nicer looking base

I would finish eating breakfast, lean back contented, and fall through the arch. Every day.

The lumpy arch radii bug me a lot. I’d have the contractor try again.

Is this the house of Mitchell and Cameron from the show of Modern Family?

Yes yes yes. Back in the late 90’s, 2000’s – I imagined moving from Canada to California and this is the forever aesthetic I have in mind for California. Not the “Selling Sunset, The Hills” type bullshit homes.

    THIS is what I want.

Personally, I hate everything about this: the curved archways, the pastel colors, the chess-board floor, all the light fixtures, the seat overhanging the doorway… Just…no.

  13. I read somewhere that if you’re trying to eat less, paint your kitchen mint green as that color makes you not want to eat.

Weird coincidence – I just saw the exact same photo of this room on Pinterest. (Looking for green kitchen inspiration)

Gorgeous! Would live here in a heartbeat.

Reminds me of the Fallout 4 starting house for some reason.

This irritates me greatly. Why are the arches different heights and sizes, all the light fittings are off centre, the cupboard handles are all differently off centred and positioned, even the mismatching coloured doors. The stove seems like it might also be quite small and a pain to ever replace. The bench overhang that you bash your knee into in the middle of the night!

The left arch is not centered. Tear it down.

I could sit here an look at this forever. It’s so perfect.

I would love to know the paint colors used here! Both the off-white and green colors.

Good luck prepping a meal for the three or four guests seated with those worktops.

We had that flooring in our kitchen when we lived in Pennsylvania.
