Definitely soap stone! We have it in our kitchen and find it very high maintenance. It looks good after we wax it, but is a little greasy even after buffing. The wax wears off over time leaving it gray and more beat up looking. Wish we didn’t have to wax it all the time to keep it looking nice!

daughter of a stonemason here! he says it looks like soapstone and a stone enhancer such as “ager” should do the trick in restoring it. he says it’s a very porous type of stone!

Looks like a suede finished quartz to me. Not sure of exact manufacturer but it looks similar to this Silestone.
