There’s a lot I don’t love about the proposed layout honestly. Why is the range in the middle of the room? Why is the fridge hidden around the corner? Why isn’t the sink under the window? There isn’t any flow. The work triangle is wonky. Look, it’s your house. Do what you want. It wouldn’t work for my family.

I prefer the proposed placement of the peninsula (the original, not red pen); you have counter space for taking things off the hob and placing on the counter.
Yes, you can turn around and do that, but I am assuming there will be multiple people in the kitchen, and don’t see much alternate counter space nearby.

Awkward layout imo. What will you do with all that counter space at the window….so far away from your work stations.

You should post a slightly more zoomed out picture in r/floorplans for advice
I don’t think the red ink proposed island would work very well. If you’re going through the trouble of remodeling your kitchen why not consider removing that bedroom closet so the stove isn’t in the middle of the room

Proposed layout. You will want counter space on both sides of the range. The more the better. This will also keep the traffic to the bathroom from needing to slide by when you are cooking

The initial proposal for the peninsula is better, a view to the window rather than the washroom, and you will also constrict flow to the washroom if you use the alternate location.
I would also suggest moving the dishwasher to the other side of the sink, you may not have enough room to walk around an open dw door, and it may be a trip hazard in that location.

Is there anyway you can swap the stove and the fridge? Even encase the fridge into the closet from the back (this might be allowable as it would possibly leave the supports in place). It would make a more useable space and the counter under the window would be great prep space. Swapping the side the dishwasher is on (if it doesn’t interfere with cupboards).
In either case I would leave the peninsula where it is now. If you put it on the other side both it and the stove will feel like isolated islands.

I would keep it where you have it

The current one without question.

If it is a gas stove I would not put a 6″ space next to it. It will be impossible to get in and clean the oven and you do not want to pull out a gas oven and stress the line. Maybe 12″ and a shallower peninsula, or a place to sit at a bar without a peninsula that wraps around the wall to the left of the range. I just don’t like that you would have to zigzag in and out of the kitchen this is awkward.
The alternative looks like someone would have to zigzag into the bathroom – equally awkward.
Why do you need a peninsula, what is its function? In a small space all you need is one dining table.
If you could post a wider view of what other rooms there are it may help to put this into context.
